Scope: How staff is to manage behaviours of residents outside the building, and in the local community.
Tabitha’s Haven welcomes good relationships with surrounding neighbours
To ensure that:
- Residents have clear boundaries
- Any complaints made by neighbours are taken seriously, and dealt with immediately, consistently, and appropriately
- Staff are responsible for reporting matters affecting their management of the locality, routinely through monitoring and documentation
- Staff are responsible for building and sustaining good relationships with neighbours, local residents, places of business, and the police
Tabitha’s Havens Health and Safety Policy
Tabitha’s Havens Health and Safety Policy
Tabitha’s Haven is subjected to the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and subsidiary legislations.
Tabitha’s Havens will have:
– written health and safety policies.
– written procedures for very hazardous activity undertake.
– adequate arrangements for Health and Safety.
Have written risk assessment for each part of the premises and each activity or event undertaken, and will ensure that:
Tabitha’s Havens will provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all residents, staff, volunteers, contractors and visitors, and will provide inductions, training and supervisions as required for individual purposes.
The allocation of duties for safety matters and the particular arrangements that will be made to implement that our policies are set out below;
- The policies will be kept up to date
- The policies will be reviewed regularly and in particularly in the light of any changes to our buildings or activities
- The person with ultimate responsibility for Health and Safety on the premises will be the Director, who will ensure that arrangements are in place to comply with the Health and Safety Regulations and Codes of Practise, and will also be responsible for developing familiarity with Health and Safety regulations as far as they concern Tabitha’s Haven
- All employees are responsible for taking care of their own health and safety and also including the people they will be working with.
The Manager is responsible for the day to day of implementing actions, monitoring health and safety, and ensuring
- The policy is observed so far as is reasonably practicable
- Risk assessments and inspection of the premises are carried out
- All plant, equipment and tools are properly maintained and are in adequate condition
- All operators have received appropriate training
- Adequate access and egress is maintained
- Adequate fire fighting equipment is available and maintained
- Food hygiene regulations and procedures are observed
All residents, staff and volunteers have a responsibility to co operate in the implementation of this policy and to take reasonably care of themselves and others whilst on the premises ensuring
- Comply with safety rules, operating instructions and working procedures
- Use protective clothing and equipment when and if required
- Report any fault or defect in equipment immediately to the Manager
- Report all accidents (however minor), injuries, near misses or other potential safety hazards as soon as possible to the appropriate person
Tabitha’s Havens Adult Safeguarding Policy
Principles
Tabitha’s Haven is committed to Safeguarding Adults in line with national legislation and relevant national and local guidelines.
We will safeguard adults by ensuring that our activities are delivered in a way that keeps all adults safe, and also create and maintain a safe and positive environment.
Tabitha’s Haven is committed to creating a culture of zero-tolerance of harm to adults which necessitates the recognition of adults who may be at risk and the circumstances which may increase risk, knowing how adult abuse, exploitation, or neglect manifests itself, and being willing to report safeguarding concerns.
Tabitha’s Haven is committed to best safeguarding practice and to uphold the rights of all adults to live a life free from harm, exploitation, or neglect.
This Safeguarding Adult policy and associated procedures apply to all involved in Tabitha’s Haven including Staff, Volunteers, Board Members, Contractors, and Visitors, and to all concerns about the safety of adults whilst taking part in our organisation, its activities, and also in the wider community.
Commitments
In order to implement this policy Tabitha’s Haven will ensure;
- Everyone involved with Tabitha’s Haven is aware of the safeguarding adult procedures and knows what to do and who to contact if they have concerns relating to the welfare or wellbeing of an adult.
- Any concerns that an adult is not safe is taken seriously, responded to promptly, and followed up in line with Tabitha’s Havens Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedures
- The wellbeing of those at risk of harm will be put first and the adult actively supported to communicate their views and outcomes they want to achieve. Their views and wishes will be respected.
- Any actions taken will respect the rights and dignity of all those involved and be proportionate to the risk of harm
- Confidential, detailed, and accurate records of all safeguarding concerns are maintained and securely stored in line with our Data Protection Policy and Procedures
- Actions taken under this policy are reviewed by the Director and Senior Management team on an annual basis
- The organisation will work effectively with other relevant organisations to safeguard and promote the welfare of adults, including sharing information.
Tabitha’s Havens Equality and Diversity Policy
Principles
We are committed to meeting all expectations and treating people fairly, regardless of their disability, ethnicity, sexual preferences, gender, religion or beliefs, age, single or marital status. And will ensure to create an equitable environment for all staff, volunteers, and service users, and all that are affiliated with Tabitha’s Havens regardless of their social-economic status or refugee status.
Commitments
Tabitha’s Havens will ensure:
- That our organisation is free from any discrimination and prejudice
- That all people, regardless of their background will be treated with the same dignity and respect.
- Actively promote our services and opportunities to a wide range of diverse communities to ensure we are able to support as many people with different backgrounds as we reasonably can.
- That we collect and monitor diversity-related data, to better understand our people and our audiences.
- Comply with Equality Act 2010 legislations, and regulatory requirements.
- That we will attract and retain people from the widest possible diversity of backgrounds and experiences to and at all levels of the organisation.
- Make all staff, volunteers, and all those affiliated in one way or another to the organisation made aware of their responsibilities, and know-how and where to seek support to actively uphold and champion equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Tabitha’s Haven Alcohol Policy
Tabitha’s Haven is committed to providing a safe, healthy and productive environment, we recognise that some of our clients will have alcohol-related support needs, however, we will not see this as a reason for automated exclusion, instead, we will work with clients according to their support packages balancing their aims with our duty to staff, neighbours and other residents to ensure that drunken behaviour does not become a threat to the safety of the smooth running of Tabitha’s Haven.
Tabitha’s haven will have clear rules regarding alcohol and drugs in the workplace.
Core Policy
- Alcohol may not be consumed or stored within the premises, or anywhere within the grounds at any time, this policy applies equally to staff and residents
- Residents may be asked to show staff the contents of their pockets and bags if reasonable suspicion that they may be concealing alcohol. If any alcohol is found it will be securely stored and returned when the resident leaves.
- All residents must have the alcohol policy explained to them on their move-in.
All incidents involving alcohol or complaints involving allegations of alcohol misuse must be recorded along with any action taken.
Tabitha’s Havens Drugs Policy
We are committed to providing a safe, healthy, and productive environment for all involved in our organisation, contractors, and visitors alike.
We aim to manage and reduce any drugs problems in Tabitha’s Havens
Tabitha’s Haven recognises that some residents will have a history of substance misuse, we are there to give residents an opportunity to make better choices
However, we cannot tolerate the use of drugs on our premises, neighbouring areas, or our local surroundings.
In the interest of the Health and safety of our employees, the organisation reserves the right to inspect and search, at random, unannounced times, packaging, boxes, clothing, or any personal belongings carried on or off Tabitha’s Havens properties.
Tabitha’s Haven will ensure:
- All residents that have drug misuse support needs will be given information about drugs and relevant support agencies before occupying a room and will also be given a copy of our policies.
- All residents that are prescribed a controlled drug eg Methodone must inform staff who will store away appropriately. Such medication should be kept in its original packaging, with labels left intact, it should not be left unattended or given to other residences for safekeeping.
BASIC PRINCIPLES:
Tabitha’s Haven will not tolerate any of the activities carried out on the premises and could lead to immediate exclusion.

- Supplying or attempting to supply a controlled drug to another
- Smoking cannabis or any other drugs such as Class A, B, and C
